I was always searching for perfect bun recipe, so I can make delicious healthy burgers and sandwiches, without feeling guilty eating flour…

They are perfect for toasting too and so easy to make.

In approximately 25 minutes you have soft, fluffy buns and most important healthy version.

I am trying to avoid baking soda as much as I can, so pastries can be as naturally made as possible. But in this recipe I did put little bit, so buns are fluffy and soft.

If you want to skip baking soda and baking powder, that’s ok. You can use sparkling water instead of regular, they might not be that fluffy, but still good.

Rye flour contains gluten, but less than wheat. People with gluten allergy can substitute rye flour with any other gluten free flour..

Instructions
  1. Mix all dry ingredients, except sunflower seed, they are going on top
  2. Add warm water little by little to get thick batter
  3. Make patties and put on parchment paper, leave on room temperature for 5 -10 min. While you waiting heat the oven to 480 degrees
  4. Bake for about 15 min and enjoy!

If you prefer Gluten free option, skip rye bread and add any other gluten-free flour good for baking and pastries in the same amount as rye flour...
